OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS FOR Robic SC-587  
Thank you for buying the Robic SC-587 Referees and Officials Watch with Game Timer.  
Your purchase brings you a world class watch with timekeeping functions suitable for a wide variety of activities.  
Please read these instructions carefully to fully acquaint yourself with the many functions offered by the SC-587.  
(A) FEATURES  
The SC-587 is a multi-function watch having dual time, alarm, sport countdown timer and chronograph functions.  
The main features are as follows:

- 5 modes of operation: Normal Time (T1), Dual Time (T2), Alarm, Sport Countdown Timer and Chronograph.  
- Normal Time is presented in hours, minutes, seconds, weekday, day and “T1”.  
- Dual Time is presented in hours, minutes, seconds, weekday, day and “T2”.  
- 24-hour or AM/PM time display formats can be selected.  
- Auto calendar until the year 2089.  
- 2 individual Schedule Alarms that can be set to refer to T1 or T2. Both alarms can be used as daily alarms.  
- Hourly chime signal at the top of the hour.  
- Sport Countdown Timer with preset times of 10 minutes, 15 minutes & 45 minutes. Additional times can be entered  
and “TOTAL” time can be measured at the end of the event.  
- 1/100-second chronograph with working range up to 99 hours 59 minutes 59.99 seconds.  
- Both “Split” and “Lap” times can be taken.  
- Audible confirmation beep tone.  
- EL back light illuminates for 3 seconds upon activation.  
(B) EL BACK LIGHT  
- Press S5 to illuminate the display with the EL back light for 3 seconds.

3. When Dual Time mode (T2) is displayed, press and hold S2 for less than 2 seconds to display the  
normal time without changing the mode.  
4. If there is no button operation for 2-3 minutes in setting mode, the watch will automatically return back to  
Normal Time mode or Dual Time mode respectively.  
(F) HOW TO USE THE ALARM AND CHIME

- Press S3 to display Alarm mode. “AL-1”, “AL-2” or “CHIME” will be displayed for 1 second.  
- Press S2 to select “AL-1”, “AL-2” or “CHIME”.  
- Press and hold S4 for 3-4 seconds to enter setting mode. The hour digits will start flashing.  
- With each press of S1, the selected digits or T1/T2 can be adjusted. They will appear flashing. Press and  
hold S1 for rapid digit advance.  
- With each press of S3, next digits or T1/T2 can be selected for setting. The sequence is as follows:

- When setting T1/T2, press S1 to select setting the alarm which refers to Normal Time mode (T1) or Dual  
Time mode (T2).  
- After all adjustments are completed, press S4 to exit the setting mode.  
- Press S1 to select the alarm and chime function on or off. If the alarm or chime is activated, the  
corresponding icon will appear on the display.

Notes:  
1. There are 2 schedule alarms which work independently. They present alarm number, T1/T2, month, day,  
hours, minutes and status. If month and day of the alarm are set to “--”, the alarm will act as a daily alarm.  
2. The alarm sounds for 20 seconds at alarm time, if the alarm function is activated. Press any button (except S5) to  
stop the alarm sound.  
3. The watch will make a “BEEP, BEEP” sound at every full hour if the chime function is activated.  
4. The alarm function will be activated upon entering the setting mode.  
5. If 24-hour display format is selected for time mode, there is no PM flag “P” for alarm time.  
6. If there is no button operation for 2-3 minutes in setting mode, the watch will return back to Alarm mode  
automatically.  
(G) HOW TO USE THE SPORT TIMER

- Press S3 to show Sport Countdown Timer mode. Mode prompt “Sport” will be displayed for 1 second.

- Each press of S1 will select the digits to be adjusted. They will appear flashing. Press and hold S1 for rapid digit

- After all adjustments are completed, press S4 to exit the setting mode.  
- Press S1 to start or stop the timer.  
- When the timer counts down to zero, additional time will count up automatically. “TOTAL” time (Countdown Time  
+ Additional Time) is displayed, when additional time is stopped by pressing S1.

- When the timer is stopped, press S2 to reload the last preset time. Continue to press S2 to select the  
3 pre-determined countdown times including 10 minutes, 15 minutes and 45 minutes.  
Notes:  
1. The Sport CountdownTimer has 1-second resolution. The working range is from 1 second to 99 minutes 59  
seconds for both the countdown time and the additional time.  
2. If the “TOTAL” time exceeds 99 minutes 59 seconds, the watch will display as follows:

TOTAL TIME: 162 minutes 55 seconds  
3. The SC-587 will sound 3 beeps at 3 minutes, 2 beeps at 2 minutes and 1 beep at 1 minute before the timer  
counts down to zero. Then it will beep for 5 seconds when the timer counts down to zero. Press any  
button (except S5) to silence the sound.  
4. When additional time is counting, an arrow pointing upwards is displayed.  
5. If there is no button operation for 2-3 minutes in setting mode, the watch will return back to Sport Timer mode  
automatically.  
(H) HOW TO USE CHRONOGRAPH

- Press S3 to display the Chronograph mode. “Chron” will be displayed for 1 second.  
- Press S1 to start the chronograph. “Run” will appear.  
- For the first hour, the chronograph shows minutes, seconds and 1/100-seconds. Then the chronograph shows  
hours, minutes and seconds.  
- Press S2 to take a split and lap time. The split time and “SPL” will be displayed for 6 seconds, then the lap time  
and “LAP” will be displayed for 6 seconds. Then the display will return to the current running time. Press 4  
for fast escape.  
- Press S2 again to take the next split and lap time.  
- Press S1 to stop the chronograph. “STP” will be displayed. Then press S1 again to re-start the chronograph,  
or press S2 to reset the chronograph back to all zeros.  
Remark:  
The chronograph has 1/100-second resolution for the first hour and 1-second resolution after that,  
up to 99 hours 59 minutes 59.99 seconds, at which time the chronograph will stop automatically.

(I) HOW TO RESET THE SC-587  
Press and hold S1, S2, S3 and S4 simultaneously for 1 second. All segments will be “off”. Then release  
the buttons and the watch will be reset. After reset, all segments will be “on” for 1 second and then the display  
will be as follows:  
(J) BATTERY REPLACEMENT  
Replace the exhausted battery with a CR2032 cell or equivalent.  
LIMITED WARRANTY  
OUR BASIC POLICY  
Marshall –Browning International Corporation (MBI Corp.) warrants to the original owner, this timepiece (excluding battery,  
lens, band or strap) for the period of one year from the original purchase date. This limited warranty is given by MBI Corp. and  
not by the dealer from whom the timepiece was purchased.

THE WARRANTY PROCESS – WHAT IS COVERED BY THE WARRANTY  
If the timepiece develops a manufacturing defect within the one year limited warranty period, it will be either repaired or  
replaced (at MBI Corp.’s option) with a timepiece of equal value, providing the original owner submits the following:  
1. Proof of purchase, i.e. a validated store receipt showing date of purchase.  
2. A check or money order (no cash, please) in the amount of $7.50 to cover the cost of shipping and handling  
WHAT IS NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY  
A. MBI Corp. will not repair defects of damages caused by or showing evidence of:  
1. Improper or unauthorized service.  
2. Misuse, tampering, abuse or mistreatment of the timepiece.  
3. Damage to the case or viable cracking of the lens.  
4. Moisture damage, if the product is a non-water-resistant timepiece.  
B. If we find that the battery is the cause of the defect, MBI Corp. reserves the right to charge your ($7.50) for a new  
replacement.  
MBI Corp. is not liable for incidental or consequential damages. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of  
incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation may not apply to you.  
YOUR RIGHTS UNDER IMPLIED WARRANTIES AND STATE LAW.  
MBI Corp. limits the duration of any warrant implied by state law, including the implied warrant of merchantability, to one year  
from the date of original purchase. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above  
limitation my not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary  
from state to state.  
CARING FOR YOUR TIMEPIECE  
Proper care of your timepiece will provide many years of enjoyment. We recommend that:  
1
The battery be replaced at once when it becomes depleted. Please ask your local retailer to replace the battery for you using  
CR2032 (Lithium) or equivalent.  
2. The lens be replaced immediately if it becomes damaged, as contamination from dust, moisture, and other foreign  
substances will damage the module.  
3. If the timepiece is not marked “water-resistant,” avoid immersing or exposing it to water, steam, or other forms of moisture.  
WHEN YOU REQUIRE SERVICE  
If your timepiece ever requires factory servicing, you can send it directly to:

We strongly recommend that when sending it through the mail, you send the product insured, return receipt requested, so that if  
a problem in shipping arises, you can trace it through the originating post office. You will be billed for all services deemed out  
of warranty; and since we reserve the right to substitute with a replacement product of equal or greater value, NEVER include a  
personal item, such as a watchband, with the repair request.
